Dragon*Con 2011: September 2-5
During Labor Day weekend, Ben and I flew down to Atlanta to attend our first Dragon*Con: “the largest multi-media, popular culture convention focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe!” I had heard a lot of good things about this convention and even watched the documentary about it, so I had pretty high expectations for our experience. I was not disappointed and I’m so glad we went! There were so many people, panels, and events! It’s definitely a convention I’d like to attend again.
Anime Central 2011: May 20-22
I recently attended Anime Central, known as “Chicago’s and the Midwest’s largest anime, manga and Japanese popular culture convention”. Even though Anime Central will have been only the second convention I’ve attended, I can safely say it is not one to miss. My husband and I had so much fun at ACen that we’re planning on coming back next year. ACen has a great con atmosphere, tons of friendly attendees without feeling too crowded, and there was so much to see and do!
